With two new tracks, The Slingers have taken their sound to a whole new level

Back in March, we premiered The Slingers‘ track When You Know. It quickly became one of our favourite tracks of the year… and we were left thirsting for more.

Now, the Melbourne five-piece have returned with not one, but two new tracks for our listening pleasure.

With two new songs, Matter Of Fact and Can You Hear Me, Melbourne five-piece The Slingers have breathed new life into their sound, without sacrificing any of their DIY charm.

On the two new songs – titled Matter Of Fact and Can You Hear Me – the band build upon their southern-tinged brand of indie rock to create something that feels far more immersive than past releases.

The Slingers have taken their jangly pub-rock sound and breathed new life into it, experimenting with synths and overlaid guitars, without sacrificing any of their raucous, DIY charm.

Matter Of Fact is a woozy, shoegaze-tinged number reminiscent of the warm sounds of The War On Drugs, while Can You Hear Me is a folky slow-burner that’ll rope you in with infectious guitar melodies and effortlessly endearing vocal delivery.

Do yourself a favour and listen to the two new songs above.
