The Strokes are getting ready to release new music

It’s been six years since their last album, but The Strokes’ fans will be both relieved, satisfied and excited by the news that the band will be releasing new music very soon.

Artist Group International President Marsha Vlasic confirmed the assumption in an interview with Music Business Worldwide.

“The Strokes are coming with new music,” Vlasic said. “We had a heartbreak [June 2nd] in New York when they were headlining Governors Ball, the weather destroyed our show and we never played, but having them back on the live music scene is exciting.”

2019 is set to be The Strokes’ ‘global comeback’ with multiple performances locked in at festivals around the world like Lollapalooza, Festival Vivo x El Rock and Electric Picnic.

In May earlier this year, they also debuted their new track The Adults are Talking at The Wiltern in Los Angeles which also suggested a future album should accompany the track.

We’ve also been waiting for two years since the promised album collaboration from Rick Rubin and The Strokes which was suggested by the father of The Strokes’ guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.

The Strokes are in very safe hands with Rick Rubin, who is known as one of the most iconic and talented music producers around. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Johnny Cash are amongst many of the various musicians he has helped bring to success.

While we wait in eager anticipation for the next new thing, check out this old fan favourite below and re-live the infectious rock n roll Strokes spirit.
