Online music gear marketplace Reverb.com has launched a new platform for buying and selling vinyl: meet Reverb LP.

Originally launched in 2013, Reverb has grown at a staggering rate to become the go-to platform for buying and selling gear online – not just for musicians, but for stores and other vendors too. Looking to do the same for the burgeoning worldwide vinyl market, the company launched Reverb LP at the tail-end of 2017.

As a point of difference from other online vinyl marketplaces, Reverb LP uses search algorithms similar to that of dating website Match.com, “ensuring that the right buyers and sellers find each other”.

They will also be taking 6% fee from any item sold through the platform, challenging that of Discogs, who take an 8% fee with $0.10 minimum.

Explaining the new platform, Reverb says:

“Reverb LP was founded for music fans. We’re creating the largest marketplace ever built to buy, sell, and discuss records. As record collectors ourselves, we know the feeling of discovering new music and the work that comes with it: The hours spent in the stacks at your favorite store looking for a rare find, the joy of discovering a new favorite. Whether you’re a die-hard crate digger or a newbie looking to get into collecting, Reverb LP is for you.”
