Tom Odell teams up with AURORA for beautiful new single ‘Butterflies’

Tom Odell has shared his latest single Butterflies, a beautiful and tender love song featuring Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA.

Butterflies is a love song in its purest form, with delicate instrumentation and ethereal vocals from both Odell and AURORA perfectly complimenting each other.

Talking about Butterflies, Odell said: “I have been a fan of Aurora and her music for many years and it was a dream come true to make this song together. It’s a song about spending the day with somebody you really like and at the end of the day having to say goodbye to them, not knowing if you will ever see them again, but being happy for the experience regardless.”

No strangers to success, Odell and AURORA have both already received a number of accolades for their solo work. Tom Odell featured in Billboard’s Global 200 Artists of 2022 ahead of Rosalia, Charlie Puth, and Arctic Monkeys, and is one of the top 15 British artists worldwide across streaming platforms, while viral sensation AURORA’s music has been streamed an amazing 3.3 billion times.

Their single together is a sonic continuation of the British singer-songwriter’s latest album, Best Day Of My Life, which was released in October of last year.

Best Day of My Life received positive reviews upon its release and was praised by publications such as CLASH, The i, and the Daily Telegraph. Tom put into practice Rick Rubin’s quote on the importance of self-imposed rules, limiting himself to just his voice and piano for the album. The result is a minimalist work featuring Tom’s voice, piano, and the occasional creak of a stool, creating his rawest and most honest album yet with powerful songwriting and mastery of the piano.
