God bless the music video. It really changed the game for music back in the day, and now has an amazing amount of influence over what music we engage with. You can say that the video has become more relevant than the music at times. The magic really happens when both mediums fit seamlessly together to create a unique experience. Here are 6 from this week that had us in the Happy office distracted from doing any actual work.
Sitting at work and looking for a bludge? Then do what we did all week and binge watch these 6 awesome music videos from the week.
Basenji – Petals
If it’s on Majestic Casual, then you know it’s good.
Koi Child – Black Panda
If there’s one band you need to watch this year it’s Koi Child. The seven-piece jazz-hop band have been working with Mr Kevin Parker on their upcoming EP, and the clip for Black Panda captures all their insane energy in an awesome old school hip-hop style video, complete with piano destruction and cameo form Pond’s Nick Albrook. Winning.
The Stiffys – King of the Internet
It’s your boys, The Stiffys, doing what they do best; drinking Passion Pop, boogie boarding and rocking the fuck out stop-motion style. Top work from the guys from Screamdance for creating this clip too!
Floating Points – Silhouettes
If you’re looking for at least one video to space out to it’s this one. Floating Points have released their dreamy new track Silhouettes, and the video does not disappoint. The oscillating light is mesmerising as it interacts with the environment and music.
Sheep, Dog & Wolf – Breathe
From across the ditch we get the amazing new clip from Sheep, Dog & Wolf. It was made by the THUNDERLIPS directing duo, and that alone is enough of an argument to watch this video.
The Pinheads – If I Have To Wait
This is for the fans of 50s b-grade sci-fi (who isn’t). VB tinnies, aliens and manic rock n’ roll. How could you not love this?
