Yesterday – June 14 – marked Donald Trump’s 74th birthday, and a bunch of Twitter users have decided to honour the current US President in a way we can get behind: declaring the day #ObamaAppreciationDay in honour of former President Barack Obama.
Thanks to the likes of Mariah Carey, Ciara, Snoop Dogg and more, it soon became the top trending topic on Twitter with over 250,000 tweets.
In the wake of the current political climate in the US, celebrities have decided to honour Barack Obama on Donald Trump’s birthday.
Mariah Carey shared a photo of herself alongside Barack and Michelle Obama, while Ciara joined in to thank the former US President with a sepia photograph of the two shaking hands.

Legendary Star Trek actor George Takei also took to Twitter to criticise Trump amidst his treatment of protesters and BIPOC during the Black Lives Matter marches, writing, “I’d say happy birthday to Donald on his special day, but after all, #AllBirthdaysMatter,” and shared several other tweets with the hashtag #ObamaDayJune14.
