Unfiltered Audio release LION: a robust modular soft synth

First teased in July, LION was the first synth from effects masters Unfiltered Audio and has now been officially released.

LION is an extremely versatile synthesizer with a very simple signal path, putting two oscillators through a mixer and running them through a filter — much like a traditional subtractive synthesiser. LION synth

Set to become the king of the synthesis jungle, Unfiltered Audio release LION. A patchable soft synth that can definitely keep up with the big boys.

Under LION’s hood is a dual-oscillator architecture with each oscillator featuring 26 modes. These modes range from familiar classics to unique oscillators found nowhere else. Pick and choose from FM synthesis, subtractive or additive waveforms, “super” oscillator stacks, microsound, noise, or variations on each.

There is also a selection of inserting oscillators ‘mix modes’ for smashing together two oscillators, including Bitter, Ash and Terrain. Lots of these algorithms create non-standard relationships between the two oscillators but all lead to truly amazing sounds.

A complete BYOME row allows for unlimited modular effects processing while also offering full MPE support with modular routing. LION’s per-voice modulation capabilities and extensive modulation effects also encourage endless experimentation in typical Unfiltered Audio fashion. All these features can be accessed from the plugin’s intuitive single-page UI.

LION is available now from the Plugin Alliance product page.
