Upcoming ‘Tiger King’ TV series announces all-star cast

The Tiger King is back, with a TV drama based on the docuseries, and an A-list cast is set to portray Joe Exotic and his questionable co-stars.

Cast your mind back to last year, you’ve started to feel the effects of home detainment and boredom, you open up Netflix looking for anything to give you purpose, and there he is.

Around the start of the pandemic, Netflix docuseries, Tiger King was everywhere: Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, you couldn’t get away from it.

As it turns out, you still can’t – cause a scripted version of the reality series is currently in production.

Joe Exotic: The Series, is going to be an adaptation of the popular Wondery podcast, Joe Exotic, which is from the same people who brought us, Dirty John.

The series will explore the real story behind the Netflix docuseries, including a focus on Joe Exotic (aka the Tiger King)’s archnemesis, Carole Baskin, who tried to shut down his zoo after learning he was breeding and using his big cats for profit.

Emmy Award winner, Dennis Quaid is set to play Rick Kirkham, Exotic’s reality show producer, while Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon will play none other than Carole Baskin herself.

John Cameron Mitchell will occupy the title role, and other roles will be played by Brian Van Holt, Sam Keeley, and Nat Wolff.

The limited series will air on television network, Peacock and dive deeper into the intense rivalry between Exotic and Baskin.

A rivalry that ultimately concluded with the Tiger King being convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse, and two counts of attempted murder-for-hire for a plot to kill Baskin.
