Although Violent Soho‘s new album WACO has been welcomed with open arms and a huge amount of praise, an accusation has been made about the album’s cover artwork. A post was made to the band’s Facebook page (which has since been deleted) claiming that the image used on the album had ripped off an artwork from Sydney based artist James Jirat Patradoon.
The band have since responded, also via Facebook to explain that they had previously worked with Patradoon, having commissioned his artwork over a year ago before WACO was recorded. They explained “It was never our intention to copy another artist’s work,” the statement reads. “We believe in supporting artists and paying them properly – as we always have from day one.”
