VOIID take aim at conformity and banality on their new EP Drool

Our favourite Brissy no-bullshit punks VOIID are back with their furious new EP Drool; a seven-track collection of pure, raging punk.

Fresh off the back of a mammoth run of dates throughout March with Crocodylus and A. Swayze & the Ghosts, the band have been touring material off DROOL for some time now. Late 2018 saw the release of singles Twin, Silly Girl and Not For You, with Vile having dropped February 2019, just in time for the tour.

Drool, the new EP from Brisbane outfit VOIID, is a fully-formed slab of vicious punk, bursting at the seams with attitude, fuzz, and self-assurance.

Sonically, the release signals a shift in gears for the four-piece. While producer Ali Richardson (Swan Pond Studios) retains the raw, garage-driven production laid down on 2016’s Pussy Orientated, the lo-fi fuzz on DROOL radiates a new kind of warmth and charm.

DROOL pokes holes in conformity and societal pressures, with single Twin blaring “I wish I looked just like you/That’s what I’d say if I didn’t have a clue” and “you’ll never get anywhere, anywhere looking like everyone one else

Never doubting itself for a second, DROOL brims with attitude, fuzz and self-assurance.

VOIID are taking DROOL all across the country this July and August:

July 6th – The Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane
July 12th – Beers & BBQ Fest, Adelaide
July 13th – The Toff, Melbourne
August 2nd – The Chippo Hotel, Sydney
