As the sun sets, the Art Gallery’s North Building will undergo a mesmerizing transformation. Its spaces will be turned into captivating performance venues, including the Tank—a former World War II oil tank that has been reimagined as a stunning art space. During the day, both the North and South buildings will come alive with free live music, performances, and workshops.

Curated by Jonathan Wilson, Australia’s first music and community curator, the Volume lineup promises a captivating blend of new and experimental live music, genre-bending pop artists, and world premieres of site-specific compositions. Wilson is excited to invite extraordinary artists to perform one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences in the gallery’s new building, exploring the unique sonic potential of each space.

With its fusion of music, film, and performance, Volume is set to ignite the spirit of creativity and celebration within Sydney. It’s a festival that embraces innovation and blurs the boundaries between contemporary culture and experimental art forms. Volume promises to be an unmissable celebration of sound, visuals, and artistic expression—an experience that will leave attendees inspired and uplifted.
