Watch Beck spin through a medley of Prince’s greatest hits

Beck has brought the spirit of Prince alive, effortlessly gliding through a divine compilation of his greatest hits in a new video dubbed ‘The Paisley Experience.’

Both Prince and Beck are both musical legends in their own right. And it seemed only natural that when Beck decided to record a new EP in Prince’s famed Paisley Park studio, he recorded a few covers of The Purple One’s work as well.

Beck rolled through a string of Prince’s biggest hits in the new video ‘The Paisley Experience,’ recorded at the late musician’s Paisley Park Studios.

The recordings appears on Beck’s new three-track EP, Paisley Park Sessions, released last week exclusively via Amazon Music.

The performance finds Beck flawlessly dressed in a purple blouse, opening with a rendition of Raspberry Beret that bounces into When Doves Cry.  Vaulting into the classic Kiss, Beck brings out his delightful falsetto before ending the performance to with the ever-loved 1999.

Beck also shared videos for the other two recordings on the Paisley Park Sessions, new renditions of his own songs, Where It’s At and Up All Night. All videos are soaked in a pretty purple hue, in remembrance of the true icon that Prince was.

It appears that the experimental lo-fi legend has had a crazy 2019. Along with the EP, Beck is has been busy prepping his new and highly anticipated album, Hyperspace, which is set to be released for your listening pleasure on November 22nd. The album follows 2017’s Colors with a massive seven of the tracks featuring production from Pharrell Williams. The album also boasts collaborations with the likes of Chris Martin, Sky Ferreira, and producers Greg Kurstin and Paul Epworth.
