Despite all the drama that has come with 2020, it’s still been a massive year for Gordi. A new album, Our Two Skins, plus a new level of recognition, even though touring is off the agenda.
Recently, the Sydney-based artist hit the Live at Enmore studios to play her freshly released single, Unready. Devoid of the electronica-tinged production of the album version, it was just Gordi, her Telecaster and her sublime voice.

As simple and sparse as it gets, Gordi’s guitar chugged out the rhythm of the track, providing a bed for her vocals, which effortlessly bounced between whisper-quiet and dramatic peaks. While she was setting up, Gordi told us what the song was about:
“It’s about standing on the precipice of your life about to begin. Whether you’re ready, or unready.”
