Watch Moogfest’s 50-hour livestream of music from female, non-binary & trans musos

When it comes to its programming, Moogfest has built a reputation for prioritising diversity. The music, art and technology festival (of course, run by legendary synth company Moog) has a history of breaking political boundaries and pushing against norms that pervade the way the global arts community is structured. And this attitude is very much at the fore of the festival in 2018.

Moogfest always on

Watch Always On – Moogfest’s 50-hour livestream of music from female, non-binary & trans artists, producers and DJs from around the world – below.

To shine a light on the vast pool of incredible female, non-binary and transgender DJs and electronic musicians working today, Moogfest will be hosting an epic 50-hour livestream of performances from these artists.

The program, called Always On, will hosted by Madame Gandhi, M.I.A.’s former drummer turned solo artist and activist. It will take place from December 6th to 8th, with each performer getting an hour of screen time.

“If we don’t reclaim the narrative of our experiences, somebody else will write that narrative for us,” Gandhi says in the announcement video below. “More than likely, it’s not a narrative that we’re going to like.”

Moogfest is happening May 18 to 21, 2018. You can tune in to the livestream via Always On live.
