After teasing its existence for the past few months, Neil Young has finally revealed the official name, release date, and trailer of the documentary detailing the making of his upcoming album with Crazy Horse, Colorado.
Co-directed by Young under his filmmaking pseudonym Bernard Shakey, Mountaintop will be shown at theatres in North America starting on October 22, with additional screenings in Europe and South America from November 18th.
Neil Young has released trailer for Mountaintop, the documentary following the making of his upcoming album with Crazy Horse, Colorado.
Earlier this year, Young announced he was canceling his tour plans to work on 15 documentary films following his career, of which Mountaintop is one.
The film is scheduled for release just before the album itself, which will come out on October 25 via Reprise Records. In the lead up to the album, two singles, Rainbow of Colors and Milky Way, have already been unveiled.
“Mountaintop is a raw and extremely unfiltered look at the process of Neil Young with Crazy Horse making their first album in seven years,” a description for the movie reveals.
“Witness the laughter, tensions, crusty attitudes and love of a rock & roll band that’s been together for 50 years as they share their passion, first and foremost…for the music.”
