Watermelon Boy shares new summer anthem ‘Break That Board’

Watermelon Boy teams up with Richie Loop and Mark Dwyer, to deliver an invigorating tropical club hit, Break That Board.

A striking follow-up to his vibrant single, No Problems, Watermelon Boy returns with another tropical club classic. This time, he’s teamed up with Kingston’s Richie Loop and Jamaican-American Mark Dwyer, to deliver a martial arts motiffed track titled Break That Board, which is out now across all streaming platforms.

Sporting a percussive, twerky rhythm peppered with ’90s fighting game sound FX, Richie Loop’s distinctive vocals ring familiar from his collaborations with Hardwell, Timmy Trumpet, Henry Fong, Steve Aoki, Vybz Kartel and Sean Paul. The Kingston-hailing artist adds a ripe dancehall flavour to the tune and enacts the chorus with the proficiency of a 5th-dan black belt.

Emerging rapper, Mark Dwyer bursts into the second verse with a 12-hit combo that shuffles like Ali’s footwork. Combining his passions of tropical sounds, martial arts and vintage gaming, Break That Board is Watermelon Boy’s most personal work yet.

Laden with infectious grooves, commanding vocals and anthemic lyrics, this three-and-a-half-minute tropical club sensation by Melbourne-based Watermelon Boy, and collaborators Richie Loop and Mark Dwyer, is the perfect addition to your summer playlist. Stream Break That Board via Spotify below.
