It’s been reported before that Smash Mouth are huge fans of Car Seat Headrest. Back in August the 90s hitmakers took to Twitter to tell the young band that their tune Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales was “One of the best songs of 2016 point blank!”.
Now Smash Mouth have expressed their interest in making a record with Car Seat Headrest – and the latter seem keen.
You dreams have been answered: Smash Mouth and Car Seat Headrest look like they are going to make a record together.
The idea of collaboration was facilitated by Twitter user/muso alligator grapple – aka Freya Crescent – who suggested that the two bands make a “split EP where each covers a song by the other”, and it took off from there.
