On Friday Young Henrys and the new Waywards kicked off the first weekend of summer with their Stay All Day party, in partnership with Childe Eyewear. The recently renovated Newtown venue was rained upon by a barrage of live rock music, and it was good.
Here’s a little taste of the madness.
The Young Henrys Stay All Day party was the summertime session we’ve all been craving. Live music, easy drinkin’, and yep… we stayed all day.
The live talent was huge from start to finish, Waywards playing host to a score of Sydney’s finest and a few trans-Australian guests. From openers Misty Lanes to VOIID, who settled into the night’s ultimate spot, the amps were sizzling and the brews were flowing.
On the local front, the day also saw sets from Tuppaware Party, The Lazy Eyes, Good Pash, Nick Nuisance & The Delinquents, plus a blinder of a showing from Georgia June.
Trekking in from a little further aways was Byron Bay’s The Oogars, who slayed their first ever showing in Sydney. VOIID are hardly new to the town, and a dedicated scrum of fans – old and new – were writhing around in the front row while they thrashed out some ‘tude.
