It’s past time you met Young Lyre – the hottest new export from across the pond in NZ.
Young Lyre are an energetic five piece blending live instrumentation and electronic sounds in such a way that references the likes of Tame Impala or Phoenix with a sprinkle of Daft Punk. That said, they’re brimming with their own atmosphere.
Nobody Else is the latest instalment in Young Lyre’s groovy indie story, delivering punch and sensitivity in equal parts.
Nobody Else perfectly balances dreaminess and intimacy to create something that feels like it’s made just for you. It evokes a sense of running away somewhere fun and exciting with an almost lover and not seeing anything but them.
Filled with spacey synths, punchy kicks and infectious guitar lines, Nobody Else will get your hips moving whether you want them to or not. Young Lyre play with different spaces, utilising instrumental variance and musical breaths to keep the attention of even the most easily distracted.
The song began as lyrics from singer Jordan Curtis, blossomed after guitarist and synth player Sanjay Bangs added his touch, and was recorded with award winning producer and engineer Simon Gooding. After having worked with Simon for years, the band felt like the song fell together pretty organically, and the results speak for themselves.
Nobody Else is the second single taken from the band’s upcoming EP, due out in May. Young Lyre are still contemplating where to tour, but let’s hope they add Australia into the equation.
Until then stop what you’re doing, get your dancing pants on and move to the groove of Nobody Else.
