Wollongong’s favourite music collective have been quick to fill the void left by the sad closure of the iconic RAD Bar. Yours & Owls, the brain trust behind the coveted Y&O festival, alongside a slew of dope indie and alternative events, are launching Choose Life!
Named after Mark Renton’s mantra from Trainspotting, Choose Life wants to give you something against the norm. Something to make you feel connected to those around you. Something that advocates positive mental health.
Yours & Owls want you to Choose Life this spring as a part of their new heavy music night. Launching in September, the night fills the void left by Rad Bar.

Choose a journey. Choose a fucking instrument. Choose good mental health. Choose the good times. Choose to express yourself. And most importantly… Choose Life”
Choose Life’s inaugural event features a range of melodic hardcore and heavy acts to get your fists pumping and your blood rushing. Hailing from Sydney, Heists are set to headline with Greyscale and Aburden heading up from Melbourne. They’ll be joined by Sydney’s Bloom, Gong locals Proposal and Shellharbour’s Ten Years Too Late to kick off what will hopefully stimulate a stagnant heavy scene.
