Zendaya’s victory at the 2022 Emmy Awards made her the youngest star, and first Black woman, to win two Emmys in her category.

Zendaya celebrated a record-breaking victory at the 74th annual Emmy Awards yesterday (September 13). She scored her second Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, for her impactful performance as ‘Rue’ in the hit HBO series, Euphoria.

The acclaimed actress and musician scored her first Euphoria Emmy back in 2020, and now, she’s struck gold once again. During her heartwarming acceptance speech, Zendaya expressed gratitude toward the show’s originator, Sam Levinson, “for believing in me and even in moments when I didn’t believe in myself.”

She continued, “my greatest wish for ‘Euphoria’ was that it could help heal people and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are Rue, I want you to know that I’m so grateful for your stories and I carry them with me and I carry them with her.”
