We’re pretty sure this came out a little while ago, but it looks like its doing the rounds again so we had to share it with anyone who hasn’t seen it yet….it’s haunting stuff.
This psychedelic recreation of the classic Simpsons intro is weird in the best kind of way.
Its an insanely weird remaking of the classic Simpsons intro, seemingly inspired by a really bad acid trip and a bit of VHS tape distortion.
Directed by Yoann Hervo alongside Hugo Moreno, with help from musician Valentin Ducloux and sound designer Florian Calmer, the clip follows the standard Simpsons intro story with a few druggy embellishments, both visual and aural.
“This opening is just a small part of a collaboration project made up by Charles Huettner, Ivan Dixon and James Hatley,” says Hervo in a note accompanying the video. “The original idea was to invite some animators to produce, in their own style, a short story in the Simpsons universe. Despite the fact that the project hasn’t been achieved, I wanted to finish what I started.”
