For the debaucherous Northeast Party House, their brand of jangly riffs and relentlessly catchy basslines over punchy lyrics speaks entirely for itself.
Northeast Party House hit Sydney last week on their national Calypso Beach tour and I’ve been trying to find the words to write this review and document the experience but honestly, my thoughts have been completely drowned out by their Spotify channel that I’ve had on blast all weekend.
Much more than just addictive party anthems, there is absolute finesse and purpose behind every hook. Their live shows, however, are a whole other level of revelry.
I’m sure we can all agree on one thing: when NPH decide to get stupid in your area, we know exactly where you’ll be.
After making their first appearance about seven years ago when singer Zach Hamilton-Reeves was still in high school, NPH have gone on to release two impressively self-produced albums. Their latest, Dare, was announced mid-tour last year and built irresistibly on the good-time tunes they gave us with their debut Any Given Weekend.
The guys have been touring the globe off the back of that 2014 release and have since returned home to remind the motherland that they’re most-certainly here to party til dawn.
They played the Factory Theatre in Marrickville to a thirsty, sold-out crowd and with a bunch of topless punters storming the stage, it was as much fun as we expected.
