On their latest piece, French mural artists Ella & Pitr tackle the global refugee crisis on a colossal scale.
The massive mural stretches over 47 meters (154 feet) high, scaling the exterior of Piney’s Dam in La Valla-En Gier in the Rhone-Alpes, France. It took ten days for Ella & Pitr and their team, suspended from the dam lip, to complete.
As Colossal note, the duo’s work often brings light to neglected societal groups by choosing highly visible locales as their canvas and painting large scale depictions of them. Previous works have been found on the sides of buildings, on runways and the entire length of a football pitch.
