Rural Victorian singer-songwriter Dreamcatcher never intended anyone to hear his music. But oh thank God they did… it’s rare to find an artist that crafts folk music with such understated beauty.
His songs are like sketches of songs… they float past you, never really landing one specific place.
With the release of his new track Hearts & Bones, rural Victorian singer-songwriter Dreamcatcher weaves an incredibly captivating kind of folk music.
Recorded by a hand-recorder in either the garden in his hometown of Kingston, or in his bedroom in Fitzroy, his tunes hold a charming lo-fi quality that you’ll quickly fall in love with.
Dreamcatcher’s newest single Hearts & Bones is a feathery slice of folk that’ll leave you with a wonderful feeling of weightlessness.
“I wrote Heart & Bones about 4 years ago. It’s about a girl obviously… my first encounter with the human experience we call ‘heartbreak’,” he says of the new song.
“She was a very inspiring, mystical character whom I admired and respected deeply. But she carried a lot of hurt, which became my hurt, and sadly so many others. Energy, whether its positive or negative, tends to have a way of perpetuating itself from one human being to another.”
