Western Australia has provided yet another absolute ripper of an ensemble, and we couldn’t be more bloody stoked. Fremantle based rootsy rockers, Lincoln MacKinnon & The Wrecking Train have just dropped their ultimate sing-along anthem, I’ll Be Yours.
“I’ll Be Yours is an upbeat, irresistible sing-a-long tale of love, chaos and friendship that’s quickly becoming a pub anthem.”
Lincoln MacKinnon & The Wrecking Train have just dropped their second rambunctious single, I’ll Be Yours, from their much anticipated upcoming album Sparks Will Fly.
Originally hailing from Melbourne, Lincoln fronted renowned local groups, The Legs and Dead River Deeps. After moving to Fremantle in WA, Lincoln formed his ultimate high energy, Aussie rock band, The Wrecking Train.
Lincoln MacKinnon was known for his unruly live performances and boisterous charm, but The Wrecking Train provided a whole other element of excitement to their energetic and unforgettable stage presence.
“The song was only ever meant to be played as a once off for that night – as a bit of a fun, upbeat, sing-along/howl-a-long number…but…when the band kicked into gear, the song had the whole crowd up on their feet, clapping their hands, hooping and-a-hollering and from that moment the song really stuck with me!”
“Even though this song was quite different from what I normally do, given the great crowd response and its infectious hook, I decided to refine the song and feature it on the new album. “

Before moving to the beautiful coastal digs of Fremantle, Lincoln spent three years living in the rural Central Australia town of Tennant Creek. Lincoln’s residency in this isolated little town later became the premise for Sparks Will Fly.
“Layered with stories of survival, love, friendship and loss, this desert town inspired a spree of songwriting and formed the basis of Lincoln’s upcoming second album ‘Sparks Will Fly’.”
“Sometime assassin, sometimes saint, Lincoln combines uplifting choruses, heartbreak harmonies and a barely contained menace to produce music that is as powerful as it is memorable.”
