Sunshine Coast alternative-rock trio Dosed have released their debut EP Head in the Clouds.
The EP features six incredibly versatile tracks that take a spin on 90’s rock music while getting creative with a little bit of punk, funk, reggae and ska.
With their irresistible grooves, Sunshine Coast outfit Dosed will have you dancing your little hearts away on their debut EP Head In The Clouds.
The EP opens with the mesmerising Head in the Clouds; a track that oozes with light surfy vibes and clean vocals.
Head In The Clouds flaunts some masterful guitar and bass work from Oskar Campbell and Noah Webbe, while the explosive drum solo from Rory Stirton is further proof of the EP’s musical scope.
Reason To Smile fuses reggae and produces a punchy sound while Too Crazy’s determination will have you stomping your feet in true rock n roll style.
“The overall theme is the daily pleasures but also struggles of being alive. While we enjoy keeping things upbeat and creating a fun energy on stage, the reality is that life’s complicated and full of ups and downs, so this resonates throughout the EP,” explains frontman Oskar Campbell.
The boys have been honing their skills as musicians and songwriters for three years now and established Dosed purely by accident. No one’s complaining though as the boys have been selling out local shows due to their infectious energy.
The last song Wobbly Van explores a groovy double-time tempo, while Campbell’s lyrics “Dragging my guitar across the land to play the funky music in a reggae band” will stick in your head for weeks.
These are still relatively early days for this Sunny Coast band, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.
In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new EP above.
