We all know nuts are good for brain function and our bulk food health stores are packed to the brim with these lil guys, so it comes as no surprise that nutritionists have found some great new benefits of eating your daily dose of walnuts, almonds, and hazelnuts…this new study is all about nut health, (for men).
60 grams of nuts per day can improve sexual satiation in men, say researchers from current FERTINUTS project.
Researchers from the Human Nutrition Unit of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV) conducted this study to find out if regular consumption of nuts has any affect on sexual function. The analysis forms part of the very appropriately named FERTINUTS project, which has been created to assess the effects of nut consumption on the quality of semen.
Participants of the nutritional intervention study were men of a reproductive age who follow a western diet.
The results show that eating 60 grams of nuts – almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts – per day can improve sexual satisfaction among men, including boosting orgasm intensity.
“Our study suggests that compliance with a healthy diet supplemented with mixed nuts may help to improve erectile and sexual desire,” the authors write.
The study was published in the scientific journal Nutrients just last month, and was written by Albert Salas-Huetos in collaboration with the URV’s Human Nutrition Unit and lead professor Jordi Salas-Salvadó.
For those of you wondering, 60 grams of each nut is about: 40 almonds, 40 hazelnuts or 20 walnuts. So slip a handful of these guys into your day for some sweet satisfaction.
