New York-based artist, Montell Fish returns with a captivating, evocative post-breakup R&B/soul anthem, Hotel.
A striking follow-up to his critically-acclaimed debut album, JAMIE launched in July, Montell Fish returns with a new heart-igniting post-breakup power ballad, Hotel, released via Lord’s Child / Virgin Music Australia.
Laden with robust, big-body synths, warm and waining guitar licks, and his signature, richly melodious vocals, Hotel marks the beginning of a new chapter for the New York-hailing artist, featuring bolder, heavier and darker sounds that embody “a kind of post-breakup anger,” following JAMIE.
As explained by Montell, “instead of soft, ambient guitars I wanted to contrast it with dark heavy bass and a more rock guitar solo towards the end.” He adds, “I feel excited about going on tour, It’s like inviting people into another world.”
2022 has been a triumphant year for Montell Fish. After receiving glowing praise from the likes of Billboard and The New York Times for his debut 10-track record, the fast-rising musician made his late-night TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with a breathtaking performance of Darling, lifted from his JAMIE LP.
Shortly after his debut on Fallon’s show, Montell Fish unveiled a deeply-moving, five-minute cinematic clip titled JAMIE, as a complimentary project to the debut album, featuring exclusive, original music from the artist.
