Sunshine Coast’s third-eye rockers Dubarray are riding the wave of Aussie success that started at a killer performance at this year’s Splendour in the Grass. Today their streak continues with the release of the video for upcoming single Paradise, and an absolute ton of tour dates as accompaniment.
The group fuses cherry-picked elements from a menagerie of genres like reggae, Byron surf-rock, electro, drum and bass, and world music into a neatly stitched, psychedelic package. The video captures this vibe beautifully, interposing images of the band playing and sunny Queensland landscapes with trippy, technicolour patterns.
Dubarray are no strangers to a tour, and this string of dates proves it. The Sunshine Coast born, Europe-tested performers are back to Oz with a vengeance.
The song shows off Dubarray’s multi-faceted style, with a reggae beat driving the song and echoey vocals preaching the paradise of the song’s namesake. Interspersed with psychedelic influences, the track is effects-heavy and tightly produced making for a dreamy, relaxing experience akin to the video accompaniment.
