Adele has announced that she’s “officially” got an “EGO” after winning an Emmy Award last weekend: “Bloody hell I’m pleased as punch!”
On Saturday (September 3), Adele won an Emmy Award for her concert special, Adele: One Night Only in the “outstanding variety special (pre-recorded)” category. Just yesterday, the 34-year-old Hello hitmaker shared her joy over the accomplishment via Instagram: “Bloody hell I’m pleased as punch!” she captioned beneath the photo of her holding the Emmy.
She continued: “Thank you @mrbenwinston for dropping this round to me this afternoon!! Trust me to officially have an EGO. Thank you so much @televisionacad, I’m so so honored to receive this. Big up to everyone involved. @griffithobservatory thank you for letting me sing up on your mountain and big love to all the other nominees x”
Adding to her collection of existing Grammy Awards, and her 2013 Oscar for Skyfall, this latest accolade brings Adele one step closer to scoring the coveted EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony).
Now, all the songstress needs to make it happen is a Tony Award. We’re wishing you the best of luck with scoring the big four, Adele!
