Once again, Azealia Banks made headlines around the world last week for all the wrong reasons, taking to Twitter to throw racial slurs and hugely offensive comments at ex-One Directioner Zayn Malik, who is of Pakistani heritage.
The feud began when Banks accused Malik of ripping off one of her songs, which led to her tweeting out “Simmer down with that fake white boy rebellion and that wannabe beiber swag” and “you a bitch nigga for even responding like that. Keep sucking this yung rapunxel dick u hairy curry scented bitch”…along with many more that were all aimed at Malik. Banks further referred to Malik as “Curry scented” and a “dirty refugee”…charming.
The tweets saw a huge backlash rise against Banks, which has also seen her been removed from the Rinse FM and Born & Bred’s summer festival line-up. In a statement released to Noisey, Rinse FM stated “We have decided to cancel Azealia Banks’ headline appearance at Rinse Born & Bred. Rinse Born & Bred is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE. We celebrate inclusivity and equality.”
Her Twitter account was also deactivated so we no longer have to be exposed to her moronic and dim-witted opinions. Via Instagram, Banks has now released an apology, although seeing this is not the first time she has managed to piss the world off, it’s kind of hard to believe it’s sincere. Maybe it would just be for the better is she was banned from all social media forever.
