Not long ago we learned that Warp Records favourite Flying Lotus had signed on to score the upcoming Blade Runner 2049 prequel short film, Blade Runner Black Out 2022.
Written and directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), the short has finally arrived today. Gorgeous, dark, and as cyberpunk as you would expect, it’s the perfect psych-up to the main event on October 6.
Watch it above.
Blade Runner Black Out 2022 is here, directed by a legendary name in anime and featuring a spine-tingling soundtrack composed by Flying Lotus.
Though FlyLo took the reins on the soundtrack, it also features performances by Miguel Atwood Ferguson and Kuedo.
Check below to hear what he had to say when he signed onto the film.
When I saw a rough cut of 2022 the temp music was from my past albums. Seeing Blade Runner imagery set to my music was a beautiful feeling

Doing something with Watanabe was a dream of mine. Cowboy Bebop is one of the greatest!
