In case you haven’t heard, this year we’re throwing a huge party on the opening night of VIVID Sydney. Taking over all three levels of the Marlborough Hotel in Newtown, the Happy Mag Issue 11 Launch will be a spectacle of live music, light and colour.
Today we’re stoked to announce the five artists who will be playing the venue’s main room.
Without further ado, check out the first artists who will be playing the Marley Bar as part of our Happy Mag Issue 11 Launch.
Bec Sandridge has been a Happy favourite since day dot, even playing the Happy Mag Issue 2 Launch back in May 2016. Three years later and she’s been straight killing it, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back.
Joining her will be fellow Wollongong favourites The Pinheads, so bets are open as to which part of the venue Jez will be climbing. Prepare yourselves also for Crocodylus – these lads are known for tearing rooms to shreds and this night will be no exception.
Off the back of her latest David Bowie-inspired single Starman, Julia Why? will also be joining the celebrations, as will Georgia June. They’re two of our favourite bands on the Sydney circuit right now, so make sure you get down early to catch all the goodness.
Issue 11 will be Happy Mag’s second annual Photo Issue, marking a collection of work from Australia and New Zealand’s most exciting photographers along with original features and interviews. Free copies will be available on the night, so be sure to bring your reading glasses.
