So all the publicity for this event that I’ve been able to find has included some ridiculous joke about the 1975 Spielberg film Jaws. We at Happy are above this pop-worship journalism and we’ve deftly removed any reference to Rob Schneider or Amity Island, just to save you from the groanworthy jokes our useless writers came up with. NOT ANOTHER BOAT PARTY is the first ever party held by brand new dance label/collective/brand Undr Cntrl who, judging by the unique spelling of their name, have got this whole SEO thing down pat. They’ve booked a doozy for their first event, teaming up with FBi Radio and Vice’s Thump to bring you a jawsome awesome lineup of Sydney EDM.
First on the bill, we’ve got Basenji, whose tunes made our electronic correspondent Courtney eloquently exclaim “awwww yeis, dis is mah jam”. It’s worth noting that Courtney may or may not be a lolcat. If you’ve been paying attention to the meteoric rise of Sydney producers Cosmo’s Midnight or Wave Racer, then his tune Dawn might also be ur jamz, and his set tomorrow night (Sat 22 March) is set to go off like an explosive air canister inside a Great White Shark.
Joining him are Sydney duo wordlife, Kilter and Softwar, all of whom make themselves some pretty sweet electronic tunes. The event kicks off at 5pm on Saturday (22nd March) from Darling Harbour, and with tickets strictly limited to 150 and currently on the final release, Undr Cntrl are gonna need a bigger boat should maybe have hired a larger vessel. Ahem.
