A$AP Rocky has been charged by US authorities for pulling a gun on an individual and firing it in Hollywood last year.
On November 6 of last year, A$AP Rocky reportedly pointed a handgun at a man who was formerly a friend of his, and fired the weapon twice, causing minor injuries. The 33-year-old rapper, and current partner of Rihanna, has now been charged for this incident that occurred in Hollywood.
As of Monday (August 15), A$AP Rocky has been charged with “two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.” The rapper is yet to enter a plea to the charges, and is set to appear in court today.
According to District Attorney, George Gascón, “Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.”
After firing the gun on the day of the incident, US authorities allege that A$AP Rocky, and two other individuals, ran away from the scene. The rapper was initially arrested for the crime at Los Angeles International Airport on April 20 of this year. However, he was let go on bail on the same day.
