‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ sequel to hit Netflix next month

Following the return of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix a few months back, a fandom renaissance has been set alight, and now Netflix has some good news for fans of the classic cartoon series.

Netflix has announced that The Legend of Korra, a sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender, will be released on August 14.

Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender will soon be able to indulge in a four-season sequel, The Legend of Korra on Netflix.

Avatar: The Last Airbender first aired in 2005 and concluded at the end of season 3 in 2008. The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the final events of the original series and follows Korra, a teenage water bender. Across the show’s four seasons, she becomes a fully realised Avatar, maintaining balance amid the world’s political conflict.

Avatar: The Last Airbender saw a significant resurgence in popularity since it was released on Netflix and fans have been calling for the inclusion of The Legend Of Korra too. Since Netflix teamed with show’s creators on a live-action series, it was only a matter of time before both animated shows were included on the streaming.

The Legend of Korra will be available to stream on Netflix from August 14.
