Barbie Ferreira reveals she won’t be returning to Euphoria for its third season, amid rumoured conflicts with show’s creator.
Barbie Ferreira who plays ‘Kat Hernandez’ on the hit HBO television series, Euphoria announced via an Instagram story that she will not be returning for its third season, which was given the go-ahead for production earlier this year.
Ferreira stated the following: “After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye.”
This announcement arrives amid rumours that Ferreira was not getting along with the show’s creator, Sam Levinson. Fans speculate that this may also explain her character’s reduced screen time in season two. As far as a release date for season three goes, HBO has not announced one as of yet, nor have they revealed a full cast list.
However, it is believed that the majority of the former season’s cast members, including Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi will be returning, with one definite confirmed return being Zendaya, who plays a lead character by the name of ‘Rue’ in Euphoria. As stated by HBO Programming’s executive VP, Francesca Orsi, “We couldn’t be more honoured to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into season 3.”
