Bethesda, the publishers behind Elder Scrolls and DOOM Eternal, has announced they will be donating $1,000,000 to COVID-19 relief efforts. The donation will be spread across three sectors including Direct Relief, UNICEF and local communities.
In the same blog post, the publisher reiterated their commitment to keeping gamers entertained in isolation through the #BethesdaAtHome campaign—a hub for streaming, as well as an opportunity for people at home to donate to charities.
Bethesda, the publisher behind DOOM, Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls is kicking in $1,000,000 for COVID-19 relief. The fund will be targeted at the front lines and the wider community.
Here’s what the company had to say about the rationale behind the donation:
“With the impact of this health crisis being so great and widespread, we want to help by donating to an array of international and local charities which are directly involved with COVID-19 relief efforts.”
Half of the fund will go to Direct Relief, which is a charity focused on providing personal protective equipment to front line health care workers. UNICEF is also in line to receive a portion of the donation as well as relief efforts across the globe, chosen by individual studios and office.
