Patti LaBelle was forced off stage by security mid-show in Milwaukee, due to a bomb threat: “Hold up! Wait!”
Patti LaBelle was in the middle of a performance at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee on Saturday (December 10), when everything came to an alarming halt. Three security staff rushed to the 78-year-old songstress, grabbing her and escorting her off the stage as she cried out, “hold up! wait!”
Footage of the incident captured by audience members sees a puzzled LaBelle dropping a bouquet of flowers from her hand, as she is pulled away from her microphone and rushed out of sight. Audience members are amused by the kerfuffle at first. However, their confused laughter is quickly muted as they become aware of the situation’s seriousness: “What? What happened?” exclaims one individual.
As it turns out, the reason for the concert’s shocking halt, and subsequent postponement, was a bomb threat. According to an official statement by Pabst Theater group, “tonight’s Patti LaBelle show at the Riverside Theatre has been postponed following a bomb threat investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department.”
The statement continued, “all patrons have been safely evacuated. Police are clearing the facility at this time. The investigation is fluid and ongoing.” Watch the bewildering moment take place via Twitter below.
