Cigarettes after Sex drop new single Heavenly and announce new album

Ambient pop band Cigarettes After Sex have announced their second studio album and released the record’s first single, Heavenly. The record is called Cry and is set for release on October 25th.

Heavenly offers the characteristic ambient dream pop vibes that has earned Cigarettes After Sex such a mass following in the last few years. Lead singer and guitarist Greg Gonzalez said in an interview that Heavenly was “Inspired by the overwhelming beauty [he] felt watching an endless sunset on a secluded beach in Latvia one summer night.”

Cigarettes After Sex have dropped a gorgeous new single Heavenly, the debut single of their upcoming second studio album Cry.

Cry will feature nine tracks, all recorded in a mansion in the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain. Gonzalez said, “The sound of this record is completely tied to the location for me…Ultimately, I view this record as a film. It was shot in this stunning, exotic location, and it stitches all these different characters and scenes together, but in the end is really about romance, beauty & sexuality. It’s a very personal telling of what those things mean to me.”

Their debut self-titled studio album was received positively by critics and fans alike in 2017. Heavenly seems to follow the same successful formula of their debut album, which is sure to please fans.
