‘Community’ cast will reunite for a virtual table read, including Donald Glover

If you have spent any time watching Netflix over recent months (and let’s face it, we know you have), then you have surely watched, or at least stumbled upon Community.

The hit comedy series which spans over six seasons follows the community college life of a motley crew of students as they navigate friendships with one another as well as their personal lives. Stars such as Chevy Chase and Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) feature in the show, which was created by Dan Harmon, (also one of the masterminds behind Rick And Morty).

It has just been announced that the beloved cast of Community will be reuniting for a virtual table read, in an effort to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.

May 18 will see the cast of Community reunite, including Donald Glover, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and Dan Harmon. Together the crew will perform a reading of the well-loved season five episode, Cooperative Polygraphy.

For fans of the show, this is massive news and a welcomed isolation activity for sure. Audiences will be asked to donate what they can to a number of charities which are working towards COVID-19 relief. This includes José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods’ COVID-19 relief efforts.

While it’s exciting to see the whole Community cast back together after five years, it’s particularly exciting to see Donald Glover get involved. Glover left the show after 5 seasons, while the remaining cast stayed on for one more. The upcoming table read is set to mark Glover’s first involvement with the show after he left to resolve “personal issues.”

Earlier this year, Glover unexpectedly released the new Childish Gambino album 3.15.20. I guess we should have figured out by now that this man is full of surprises. Either way, we are excited to indulge in some extra Community content which is set to be live-streamed on YouTube the week after next.
