Crowdfunded festival Legion Music Festival announces the first acts to join the inaugural lineup

With so many classic festival falling by the wayside in recent times, it’s great to see almost as many new ones popping up. Legion Music Festival will run for the first time in 2016, however, it is completely reliant on a massive Pozible crowdfunding campaign – one that was launched today alongside the announcement of the first few acts to play the festival.

Three international and three local acts have been announced on the lineup including Darkest Hour and Battlecross from the States, plus festival kingpin John Sankey’s own band, Devil You Know, as well as local heroes Caligula’s Horse, Darkc3ll and Rick Dangerous & The Silkie Bantems.

Upon the Pozible campaign going live today, Legion announced the first six acts alongside an urge for punters to dig deep to make the festival happen:

“Each of these bands have offered their truly amazing support and are ready to get loud and sweaty on the Legion stages. Please know : We have many more set to announce and are very excited to bring you a complete line-up, including Headliners as soon as possible, this is just the start! REMEMBER this can only happen with your pledge to attend so we can all rock out together!”

The crowdfunding goal is set at $3.27 million – more than three times as large as any crowdfunding campaign launched in Australia.
