Damn you Glass Animals! Major UK Festival calls a full ban on…pineapples

Reading Festival has called for a site-wide ban on pineapples after fears for the safety of patrons.

Reflecting upon past sets from Glass Animals, event organisers have made an executive decision to add pineapples to the list of contraband.

Reading Festival instigates full ban of pineapples at the upcoming event due to fears of Glass Animals fans bringing the dangerous fruit to the event.

The reason it seems is that in referencing the band’s song Pork Soda and it’s line ‘pineapples are in my head’, fans have been going to any lengths to show their appreciation for the band’s lyricism. Going so far as to adorn their bodies with the fruit in any form.

In an attempt to nip it in the bud, the festival has stopped any fruity action in its tracks.

In response, a spokesman from Glass Animals told NME the ban was “Fruitist”.

“Watermelons are fine, but not pineapples?” he said. “Challenge – anyone who wasn’t bringing a pineapple definitely is now.”

Continuing, Glass Animals added: “It’s irresponsible to stop young people at a festival having vital vitamin P.”

Let’s hope Australia stays cool and allows all fruit to be used and abused at this year’s round of summer festivals. Sorry Leeds, we’ll be thinking of you and sippin’ Pina Coladas by the pool.
