Detroit hero Moodymann unveils first digital release of new album Sinner

Electronic dance music great Kenny J Dixon (Moodymann) is back and is releasing a digital version of his latest album Sinner, which will be out on June 21 via his record label KDJ.

Physical vinyl copies of Sinner were sold at his set at Movement in Detroit as well as at a selection of Detroit record stores. The digital version of Sinner will feature seven tracks, whereas the vinyl was a five-track only copy.

Moodymann is an outspoken voice in electronic music, his sound a hybrid of classic soul and jazz samples with reworked house and techno grooves.

Resident Advisor reports that the digital release is missing the title track, however, replaces it with Got Me Coming Back Rite Now which was released late last year. A live version of I Got Werk from his 2014 self-titled album will also be included.

The digital version of Sinner will be out on June 21 and is a follow up to Moodymann’s DJ Kicks mix that was released in 2016. Check out the video for the Sinner track I’ll Provide below:
