Better than a good belly scratch: Melbourne’s only dog-friendly festival Dogapalooza is returning this year

Grab your leashes, chew toys and scooby snacks because a dog friendly music festival is coming to Melbourne this October. Woof.

Dogapalooza Melbourne will be a six hour walk in Burnley Park complete with some TBA local acts, plenty of room to run around and of course, hundreds of dogs to make friends with.

With so many music festivals around right now, we’re always looking for a fresh new take. Dogapalooza is the next step the world of festivals has been waiting for.

This will mark the pooch-friendly festival’s second year running after overwhelming success in 2015. The acts for the day out are yet to be announced, but with plenty of sweet deals like ‘Early Dog’ tickets going around, the event is likely to see a healthy second year.

As if the idea of a festival for dogs isn’t already making the world a better place, all proceeds from this years Dogapalooza will go towards animal rights and protection charities, both locally and Australia wide. These include Melbourne Animal RescueKathmandu Animal Treatment Centre, and on the non-doggo front Helping Hands Animal Rescue and Save Orangutans. Check here full the full list of beneficiaries.

So if you’re the happy owner of one or more pups, or just an enthusiast for man’s best friend, this will be one Melbourne event you can’t miss. Prepare the treats and get ready to hear “who’s a good boy?” more times in one day than ever before.
