Donald Glover is set to release two new seasons of ‘Atlanta’ in 2021

FX have announced that Donald Glover’s hit show Atlanta will return for two seasons in 2021.

At the Winter Television Critics Association press tour, FX Network announced that the show will return next year and that writing is underway.

After the end of season two in 2018, fans of Donald Glover’s Atlanta can rejoice knowing that not one but two brand new seasons are coming in 2021.

FX Network Executive John Landgraf explained that the third season would contain 10 episodes while the fourth would contain 8.

Landgraf went on to say that the two seasons would act as “parts one and two” of a new era of the shows life. The aim is for the first season to premier in January 2021 while the second season should drop in the fall of the same year. Atlanta has raked in multiple awards, from Emmy’s to Golden Globes, whilst picking up a huge following since it first aired in 2016.

Glover also became the first African American director to win an Emmy for directing in a comedy series. There simply seems to be nothing this man can’t do. From film, to TV and back to music, Glover is one of the most eclectic visionaries of his generation.

When asked whether FX would continue Atlanta after the fourth season, Landgarf replied, “As long as Glover wants to do more Atlanta, we will do more Atlanta.”

Let’s hope it continues well on into the future.
