I don’t know about you but all this Tiger King drama is getting a little too much for me. However, the Netflix hit true-crime series that everyone is streaming right now has officially made its way to The White House.
In a recent press conference, one journo thought he’d ask US President Donald Trump about the issue of Joe Exotic’s incarceration, and Trump responded by saying that he’d look into pardoning the zoo founder and alleged murderer.
The real-life Tiger King Joe Exotic was sentenced to 22 years for several crimes and now President Trump has said he’ll look into pardoning him.
“[Joe is] asking you for a pardon, saying he was unfairly convicted,” reporter Steven Nelson said.
“Your son [Donald Trump Jr.] yesterday jokingly said that he was going to advocate for it… and I was wondering if you’ve seen the show and if [you] have any thoughts on pardoning Joe Exotic?”
In response, Trump said he knew nothing about it and after finding out that Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage) says he didn’t do it, he asked if the journalist was recommending he be pardoned.
“I’ll take a look,” the President said, as seen in this YouTube clip.
The chances of Joe actually getting pardoned are pretty slim, but considering the whole world thinks Carole Baskin did it, maybe Exotic actually is more innocent than a 22-year sentence seems. We can only guess from what we’ve seen in the show – that is unless a real-life enquiry opens up…2020, what are you doing?!
In other news, Exotic also recently contracted COVID-19 whilst in prison.
