July 14th saw France celebrate Bastille Day, a yearly commemoration of the storming of the Bastille in 1789. It’s become a similar dance to Australia Day or Independence Day, a national celebration of historical significance and just one big fun time.
Included in this year’s festivities was a Daft Punk medey performed by a military marching band smack-bang in the middle of the Champs-Élysées. Watch it above, it’s damn fantastic.
Amongst the audience members were French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trumpy. One of them enjoyed the show.
To most of the world, a Daft Punk medley sounds like a good time. To President Donald Trump, there’s absolutely nothing worse.
While Macron looks to be in a continuous state of stokedness, Trump looks about the polar opposite, spending most of the performance with a look that just screams “mediocre”.
Now that I think about it, Trump actually kind of looks like a pre-apocalyptic Immortan Joe from Mad Max: Fury Road.
