Float through the dream-pop brilliance of Future Silence’s debut EP

There’s something undeniably hypnotic about the music of Future Silence. In a very brief amount of time, the Chicago-based three-piece have developed a sound that feels simultaneously infectious and disorientating; like a bizarre, sprawling dream you never want to wake up from.

With the release of their debut self-titled EP, the band have immediately established their penchant for crafting deeply addictive, narcotised dream-pop gems. If you’re not already across this band, we strongly recommend you change that.

On their debut self-titled EP, Chicago-based three-piece Future Silence deliver a lush and sweeping slice of dream-pop brilliance.

Throughout the new EP, Future Silence glide through a hallucinatory concoction of indie-rock, shoegaze, and pop to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With lush instrumental arrangements and irresistibly ghostly vocal melodies, the new EP is a collection of sweeping audio bliss.

Across its five-track run-time, the EP pulls you through myriad sonic territories—one moment you’ll floating through plains of dreamy synth lines, and the next you’ll be locked in a psych-rock groove. The way the EP flips so seamlessly between genres, however, is its most endearing quality. Future Silence have delivered an EP that bounds them to specific sound, leaving future releases the opportunity to fly in any direction.

These are still early days for this Chicago group, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes. In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new EP above.
